Psst.. I’ll let you in on a little secret – I’m kind of obsessed with strawberries. Oh, you’d already guessed? Sorry, I’ll have to come up with a better kept secret then. Seriously though, I can’t help adding them to everything when they’re in season. I firmly believe they can make anything taste good! So, with last week’s smoothie bowl experiment a success, I took it upon myself to try another one. This time the strawberries didn’t just serve as the topping!

I know what you’re thinking.ย 

Strawberries and bananas kind of sounds like a weird combo. I agree. But I was short on fruit options. Plus, a little bit of food adventure never hurt anybody. Actually, I can’t really say that for sure. But you know what I mean.

This particular food adventure definitely DIDN’T hurt anybody, though. Except I’m now too stuffed to move. Does that count?

Okay, I think you get the message. This smoothie bowl is the stuff of dreams. Now let’s fast forward to the recipe. As usual, it’s quick and easy – just the way you like it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Strawberry-banana smoothie bowl

Serves: 1

2 frozen bananas (peeled and cut)
1 cup strawberries
3 tbsp yogurt (use low fat as a healthier alternative)
A splash of milk (healthy alternative: almond milk)
2 medjool dates (healthiest natural sweetener you’ll ever find)

Put everything into a high powered blender and get blendin’. You know you’re done when the texture is smooth and creamy. Top with fresh fruits of your choice.

Yep, that’s it. It was so filling, I’m considering skipping lunch!

    1. Oh you can’t really taste the dates once they’re blended. They just help sweeten it and add to the thick, creamy texture ๐Ÿ™‚
